1. Box Breathing
Box breathing, also known as square breathing, is a powerful technique used by Navy SEALs to stay calm and focused under pressure. To practice box breathing, follow these steps:
- Inhale: Slowly breathe in through your nose for a count of four seconds.
- Hold: Hold your breath for four seconds.
- Exhale: Slowly exhale through your mouth for four seconds.
- Hold: Hold your breath for four seconds.
- Repeat this cycle for several minutes, focusing on the rhythmic pattern of your breath.

2. Alternate Nostril Breathing
Alternate nostril breathing, also known as Nadi Shodhana in yoga, is a technique that helps balance the left and right sides of the brain. To practice alternate nostril breathing:
- Sit comfortably with your spine straight.
- Use your right thumb to close your right nostril and inhale through your left nostril for a count of four seconds.
- Close your left nostril with your right ring finger and hold your breath for four seconds.
- Open your right nostril and exhale for four seconds.
- Inhale through your right nostril, close it, and exhale through your left nostril.
- Repeat this cycle for several rounds, focusing on the flow of breath through each nostril.

3. Kapalabhati Breath
Kapalabhati breath, also known as the skull-shining breath, is an invigorating breathing technique that cleanses the respiratory system and energizes the body. To practice Kapalabhati:
- Sit comfortably with a straight spine.
- Take a deep inhale through your nose.
- Exhale quickly and forcefully through your nose, drawing your belly in towards your spine.
- Allow the inhales to happen passively as your focus on the forceful exhales.
- Repeat this pumping action for several rounds, gradually increasing the speed.
